Three: Sergeant W. J. P. Wheat, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who was killed when his Beaufort failed to return from a patrol on 22 June 1941

Walter Joseph Parsonage Wheat, a native of Liverpool, served with 217 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second War, and was killed when his Beaufort W6528, piloted by Flying Officer Welsh, failed to return from a patrol on 21 June 1941- it is believed that their aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off La Rochelle. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
