James Lucas attested for the Dorsetshire Regiment, and served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 23 December 1915. His Medal Index Card states ‘Forfeited Desertion 15-12-17’, before being crossed out and the recipient being allocated a new service number.
