A German Second War Government Officials Dagger with Straps.
An original Alcoso produced Government Officials dagger but with replaced cross guard. Excellent condition ‘Alcoso’ marked blade. All of the finish to the upper hilt and scabbard match identically. The mother of pearl grips excellent, however the cross guard in our opinion has been replaced, it does not conform to the Alcoso pattern and is of a slightly different coloration than the remainder of the dagger. We would imagine that the dagger originally had been de-nazified and had this replacement fitted at some stage of its life. Complete with its rare original brocade hanging straps. Some minor oxidisation to the body of the brocade but still excellent with both attachment clips present and working correctly, very good condition £1,000-£1,400
