Thomas Owens served in Captain George Beane’s ‘D’ Troop of Royal Horse Artillery during the Waterloo Campaign. Beane was killed at Waterloo and his ‘D’ Troop was taken over by Captain Mercer, who had commanded ‘G’ troop in the battle.
