Australia, 50th Anniversary of the First Settlement at Portland, 1884, a silver medal, unsigned, bust of Edward Henty three-quarters left, rev. legend in trilobe, 32mm (Carlisle 1884/1, not recorded in silver). Pierced as usual, extremely fine, rare (£40-50)

Edward Henty (1809-78), born in Sussex, arrived in Australia at the age of 20 and in 1834 he commenced the first settlement in Victoria at Portland
