Sierra Leone, Proof Dollar, 1791, in gilt-copper, Decimal series, value 100 above and below clasped hands, edge plain, 26.05g/6h (Vice 2C; KM. 6b). Usual tiny rim flaw above o of leone, has been lightly cleaned in the past and with a few associated surface marks, otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare (£1,000-1,500)

Provenance:
From an old collection of relics associated with Matthew Boulton’s Soho manufactory, which has been passed down through successive family generations until now. Sold with related photocopy from a 1906 Birmingham newspaper
