India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 (299 Sowar Bostan Khan, 42/Cavy.) officially re-impressed naming as is common to this regiment and to casualty recipients for this campaign; Indian Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (10170 L-Daf. Amir Ullah, Khan, 15 Lrs.) partially officially corrected, edge bruising to first, this good fine and a scarce casualty; the LS&GC very fine (2) £70-£90

Bostan Khan served with the 42nd Cavalry during the Third Afghan War, and was killed in action/ died in Persia on 5 January 1920. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Roll of Honour lists only 12 casualties to this Regiment, of whom 7 were killed in action or died in the period 1-9 January 1920. Bostan Khan is commemorated on the Tehran Memorial, Iran.
