Charles Bell was born in Toxteth, Liverpool, on 14 November 1910, and attested for the the Royal Army Service Corps (Territorial Army) on 30 April 1939. Embodied on 2 September 1939, he served during the Second World War in India from 12 December 1943 to 15 October 1945, was promoted Sergeant on 12 July 1944, and was discharged, Class “Z” Reserve, on 4 January 1946.
