Royal Edinburgh Volunteers Medal (1st Regiment) 1804, silver-gilt, engraved, raised rim, 58mm diameter, obverse: central engraved arms of the city of Edinburgh in an oval, with the crest above, on a trophy of arms and flags, ‘Royal Edinburgh Volunteers’ above, and ‘1st’ below, Edinburgh hallmark and maker’s mark ‘JM’ for Jonathan Millidge; reverse: in a laurel wreath, ‘Presented by Lieut. Colonel Hope for exemplary attendance during the season of 1804’, the edge inscribed ‘George Sandy W.S. Left Grenadiers 1st Regt. REV’, ornamental loop for suspension, good very fine and scarce £300-£400
