Militia Officer’s 1844 Pattern Part Shako Plate.
Comprising a fine quality silver plated crowned eight-pointed star back plate and its eight-pointed beaded star overlay, the missing overlay and centre strongly suggests that the plate pertains to either the 2nd Somerset or 2nd Staffordshire Militia, the back plate complete with two lug fasteners and shako wires behind the crown, very good condition £160-£200
