Charles Richard Otley was born in Attercliffe, Sheffield in February 1900. He served with the York and Lancaster Regiment, and his M.I.C. shows this as his full entitlement. Sold with a photographic image, annotated on reverse giving details about the recipient and identifying him as sat in the centre of the group wearing his medal.
