Algiers), contemporarily engraved naming; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (Ge. Brown. Ship’s Stewd. H.M.S. Pembroke. 21 Yrs.); Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed as issued, pierced with wire suspension, good very fine (4) £700-£900

George Brown served as Ship’s Steward in H.M.S. Algiers in the Baltic and the Crimea and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in April 1872.
