YORKSHIRE, Doncaster, oval ivory (2), Ladies Stand, Erected 1858, backs named (No. 25, J. Fullerton, Esq; No. 26, J. Fullerton, Esq), both 50 x 37mm, 8.17g and 7.94g (W –; D & W –; cf. DNW 176, 284) [2]. Very fine and very rare; pierced for suspension, No. 26 with contemporary blue ribbon £300-£400

John Fullerton (1803-69), succeeded to the estate of Thrybergh, Rotherham, following the death of his father, John Fullerton (1778-1847). He married his first cousin, Louisa Skipwith (1806-74) in Alveston, Warwickshire, in 1827; before moving to Thrybergh the Fullertons and their family of 11 children lived at Stretton-upon-Dunsmore.
