Bolton Borough Police Good Service Medal, silver, hallmarked Birmingham 1914, with silver ribbon bar inscribed ‘Over 25 Years’ (Constable 34. Joseph Burton. Appointed 29th September 1919) the reverse engraved ‘Presented by the Watch Committee November 1939’, with ribbon in case of issue, extremely fine £100-£140

This medal was instituted in 1913 and was awarded for 25 years good service. In 1931 the qualifying period was reduced to 20 years.
