Harry Lawson, 1889, a silver medal signed J.W., draped bust left, rev. a keepsake from harry e.w. lawson m.p.c.c. london 17 january 1889, 35mm (BHM –; cf. DW 26, 823). Mint state, toned, rare; in black case of issue (£60-80)

Harry Lawson Webster Levy-Lawson, 2nd Viscount Burnham (1862-1933), son of the Jewish press magnate Edward Levy-Lawson (1833-1916), who purchased the Daily Telegraph in 1855 and ran it until 1903 before ceding control to his son. This would appear to be a personal tribute medal by Lawson, who was elected Liberal MP for West St Pancras in 1885, on his election to the London County Council
