James II (1437-1460), Groat, Edinburgh, class II, mm. crown, crown with spearheads, rev. crown before vil, annulet and three pellets in first and fourth quarters, crown in second and third quarters, 3.62g/10h (cf. SCBI 35, 702; B 19b var.; S 5233). Striking split at 1 o’clock, faint scratches on bust and some verdigris, otherwise nearly very fine (£150-200)
