France, La Paix Educatrice, 1898, a large uniface cast bronze plaque by A.A.P. Massoulle for Magdeleine of Paris, seated figure of Peace with sword and shield, protecting a child who reads a book partly resting on her left knee, 195 x 143mm (BDM III, 603). A most attractive piece, good very fine and nicely patinated, very rare £80-£100
