British military: An unsigned RAF engineer’s pocket watch, 1940s, the cream dial with black Arabic numerals, outer minutes track, blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds dial, the 15 jewel movement signed ‘Swiss made’ and numbered ‘30’, within chrome nickel plated case with screw down back bearing military issue broad arrow pheon and numbers ‘6E/50 B5418’, watch diameter 51.5mm. £60-£80

According to sources the 6E designation indicated that the watch was issued by the RAF for “general use (engineering, medical, etc.)”. This differs from the 6B designation which were general issue for use by airmen, and 6A which were intended for mounting within an aeroplane cockpit.
