Hammer Price:

An 18ct gold, ruby and diamond bracelet, by Ben Rosenfeld, formed of textured chevron-shaped leaves, with ruby and brilliant-cut diamond highlights, hallmarked for London, 1962 and bearing maker’s mark ‘BR Ltd’ for Ben Rosenfeld (Jewels) Ltd, length 22cm. £2,600-£3,000

Ben Rosenfeld was a British jewellery designer, based in Hatton Garden, and trading from around 1959 until 1987. In the immediate years after the second world war, gemstones were scarce and therefore prohibitively expensive, hence gold became highly fashionable, with often the use of just small gemstones and diamonds as highlights. Rosenfeld gained an international following for his designs during the 1960s and 70s. Examples of his work can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
