26th (Cameronians) Regiment, a very fine and scarce Major’s 1868 pattern single breasted full dress scarlet tunic, yellow facings correct rank lace to cuffs and collar and single Bath rank stars to collar, gold orris cord shoulder straps, the gilt buttons by Ranken & Co, Calcutta, truly excellent external condition, two tiny moth holes only, the padded silk lining badly shot, the bottom frontal button missing usually a plain flat type to accommodate the waist belt £250-350

The 26th were in India c1866 briefly in Abyssinia (1868) and then back to India until 1878.
