4th Bombay Light Cavalry, a good quality officer’s silver fronted flap pouch hall marked Birmingham 1847 by J&Co.; the front with edge engraving of floral designs and mounted with a gilt brass ‘BLC’ monogram, above the small ‘garter like’ star favoured by the HEIC cavalry, blue moroccan pouch, complete with contemporary hall marked silver ‘D’ rings, the lower section of the ‘C’ in the monogram missing, no gilt remains on the mounts and the pouch retaining tab fractured £500-600

An enclosed handwritten note indicates that this was worn by Capt JC Farquarson who served in the regiment 1847-1866
