1st Regiment of Foot Guards, George II period, an extremely rare and desirable officer’s commission appointing John Goat, Gentleman to be an Ensign, signed by the King at Kensington Palce 23 May 1758, attached red seal and paper wafers, now laid down on card, very good condition for the period (1) £60-100

The Commission is named to Edward Goate, signed by W. Pitt and is not laid down on card. Also sold with a printed manuscript Laisser Passer permitting Goate to travel to England, signed and sealed by the Marquis of Granby, dated Warbourg 6 December 1760; 2 items in the lot
