Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society, Bramley-Moore Medal for Saving Life at Sea, silver, by Elkington, Liverpool (Richard Stoker, S.S. Bickerstaffe, for plunging into the sea off Blackpool and rescuing a passenger, 3 Oct. 1901) minor edge bruising and contact marks, very fine, scarce £500-600

The first award of the Bramley-Moore Medal was made in 1874 and the last in 1945. To date, a total of 1 gold, 22 silver and 20 bronze medals have been awarded.

‘A Bramley-Moore Silver Medal to Richard Stoker, of the S.S.
Bickerstaffe, for plunging into the sea from that steamer off Blackpool, and rescuing a passenger who had inadvertently fallen overboard, on the 3rd October 1901.’
