A Great War R.R.C. group of six awarded to Sister M. L. T. Babb, Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Staff Reserve

Royal Red Cross (R.R.C.), G.V.R., 1st class breast badge, gold, silver-gilt and enamel, the reverses of the arms privately engraved with the recipient’s initials, in its Garrard & Co. Ltd. case of issue; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (Nursing Sister); King’s South Africa 1901-02, no clasp (Nursing Sister); 1914-15 Star (Sister, Q.A.I.M.N.S.R.); British War and Victory Medals (Sister), mounted as worn excepting the first, generally very fine or better (6) £400-500

R.R.C. London Gazette 23 February 1917: ‘In recognition of services in connection with the war.’

Miss Babb, who served with the Army Nursing Service Reserve at Capetown during the Boer War, was stationed at the Reserve Military Hospital at Dover at the time of receiving her R.R.C.
