1939-45 Star; Africa Star; War Medal 1939-45, unnamed as issued; together with an associated Voluntary Medical Service Medal (C. Coupar), last with edge bruising, good very fine (4) £40-60

Sold with Army Council medal transmittal notice, named to ‘Pte. Donald Keir Coupar’, expressing sorrow that he did not live to receive them.

7938635 Private Donald Keir Coupar, 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, died on 28 November 1942, aged 38 years. He was buried in the Tehran War Cemetery, Iran. The 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment served in ‘Force 121’ in Madagascar, May / June 1942 and then in India in September 1942. It was then sent to Basra and Baghdad as part of ‘Paiforce’ from 20 September to 1 October 1942. Sold with details of this force taken from
