Bertram Ernest Peck, 2nd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (formerly 23148, 9th Reserve Regt. Cavalry) was born at Sudbury, enlisted at Cheltenham, and was killed in action in Gallipoli on 7 August 1915. He was aged 27 and is commemorated by name on the Helles Memorial.
