Arthur Pearson was born in and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 9th Battalion Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action during the German ‘liquid fire’ attack at Hooge on 30 July 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
