Three: Captain E. W. Hancock, Gordon Highlanders, attached King’s African Rifles

Edmund William Hancock, who was born in October 1895, was gazetted as a 2nd Lieutenant to the 10th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders in January 1915, and arrived in France in July of the same year. In November 1917, however, he was transferred on attachment to the King’s African Rifles, and was advanced to Temporary Captain in June 1918.
