Henry Chandler was born in Birmingham and enlisted into the Scottish Rifles in 1890. He served with them in India between March 1891 and February 1895 and was discharged to the Reserve in 1897. With the Boer War he was recalled for service, serving with the Scottish Rifles in South Africa from October 1899 until August 1902. With them he was wounded in the action at Spion Kop on 24 January 1900. He was discharged in August 1902. Sold with copied research details.
