Frederick James White was born in Farnborough, Hampshire; residing in West Norwood, Surrey he enlisted in London. Serving with the 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade, he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 10 September 1914. He was killed in action on 1 September 1916, aged 22 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Entitled to a clasp.
