Private J. Esson, 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders, entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 8 November 1914; Private J. Keaning, 2nd Battalion Gordon Highlanders entered on 12 November 1914 and Private F. McConnachie, 1/6th Battalion Gordon Highlanders entered on 10 November 1914. McConnachie was later discharged but re-enlisted in the Machine Gun Corps on 23 November 1916. Esson entitled to a clasp.
