William Barker was born in Great Yarmouth and enlisted at Ipswich. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Suffolk Regiment he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 15 September 1914. He died of woundes, France / Flanders, on 11 April 1917. He was buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun.
