2nd Lieutenant G. Alexander, 10th Hussars, entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 9 November 1914. Promoted Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars Special Reserve on 20 March 1916, he was mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 1 January 1916).
