Joseph Jackson was born in and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 9th (Queen’s Royal) Lancers he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 27 August 1914. He was killed in action, 30 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
