Percy Robert Wyatt, who was born at Wingrove, near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, joined in the British South Africa Police in May 1901, aged 24 years. His subsequent career was marred by four entries on his “Defaulter Sheet”, ‘allowing a prisoner to escape’ at Usher in October 1903 among them.
