Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, no clasp (T. D’A. Bromlow, M.D., Stf. Surgn., R.N., H.M.S. Turquoise) contact marks, about very fine £300-350

D.S.O. London Gazette 21 June 1887: ‘For operations in Burma’.

Thomas D’Arcy Bromlow was born in 1840. He was appointed Surgeon in the Royal Navy on 8 December 1863, Staff Surgeon on 14 April 1877 and Fleet Surgeon on 2 October 1884. His full medal entitlement was Distinguished Service Order, V.R. (gold); Egypt 1882-89, no clasp; India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7 and Khedive’s Star. Sold with copied service papers and a copied account of the Naval participation in the conquest of Burma.
