Provenance: Dix Noonan Webb, September 2010.

H.M.S.
Fearless, an amphibious assault ship launched in 1963, served during the Falklands War under the command of Captain E. J. S. Larken, D.S.O. In her capacity as a key command ship, she was frequently the target of enemy aircraft. Although hit by cannon fire on at least one occasion, she did not suffer any serious damage, and was able to carry out various sorties from the anchorage at San Carlos, including the insertion and recovery of landing craft at San Salvador and Fitzroy.
