The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Serving Brother’s breast badge, silver and enamel, circular badge with white enamel cross with heraldic beasts in angles raised above the background; British War Medal 1914-20 (M.9580 H. A. Amy. S.R.A. R.N.); Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (1554. H. A. Amy, S.R.A. R.N.A.S.B.R.); St. John Service Medal, with 2 Additional Award Bars (3728 Sgt. Henry Arthur Amy was born in Islington, London on 13 July 1877 and joined the Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve on 12 August 1914. He served during the Great War at H.M.S. Pembroke I (Chatham Barracks) from 12 August 1914 to 26 October 1914, and then at R.N. Hospital Chatham from 27 October 1914 to 16 May 1919 (entitled to a British War Medal only). He returned to Pembroke I on 17 May 1919 and was Shore Demobilised on 20 June 1919. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 28 July 1921.

Amy was also an active member of the Barton Hill St. John Ambulance Brigade, and was awarded his Service Medal in 1924; he would go on to receive 2 additional award bars. He was appointed a Serving Brother of the Order of St. John in 1933 and died in Bristol in 1949.
