Patrick Francis Cholmley Bloxham was born in June 1905, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the West Yorkshire Regiment in January 1925. He resigned his commission as a Lieutenant in March 1930, and subsequently rejoined the Army in the Royal Army Pay Corps. Bloxham advanced to Captain in May 1940, and served as Temporary Major and Staff Paymaster, October 1940 - June 1941. He advanced to Lieutenant Colonel and Staff Paymaster 1st Class in February 1951, and his postings included as Commissioned Paymaster, Hong Kong, 1948-49, and the same appointment for Malta from February 1954.
