Arthur Blackburn was born in Cherry Willingham, Lincolnshire and served with the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment during the Great War. He died of wounds on the Western Front on 15 May 1915 and having no known grave is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
