Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Syria (Nicholas Ferrudge.) edge bruising, very fine £500-£700

Nicholas Ferrudge was born in Vexcone, Malta, in c.1813, and joined the wooden paddle sloop H.M.S. Phoenix direct from H.M.S. Salamander on 24 September 1839. He served in her during the operations on and off the coast of Syria, and at the bombardment of Acre on 11 November 1840, prior to being discharged from Phoenix and the service at Malta on 17 November 1841, with ‘good’ conduct.
