A Second War campaign group of three awarded to Liberator Bomb Aimer Leading Aircraftman D. Ashe, Royal Air Force, who flew in a number of operational sorties with 357 (Special Duties) Squadron to Malaya and Sumatra, July - September 1945

D. Ashe served as a Leading Aircraftman with the Royal Air Force during the Second War. He carried out his initial training in Canada at No. 4 B. & G. School and No. 9 A.O.S., before qualifying as a Bomb Aimer in October 1944. After serving at 5 O.T.U., Boundary Bay, Ashe was posted for operational service with 357 (Special Duties) Squadron (Liberators) at Mingladon, Burma in June 1945. The Squadron was primarily tasked with supply drops to guerilla forces in Malaya and Sumatra, and Ashe flew in a number of these operational sorties between July - September 1945.
