Only 4 officers and 19 other ranks received the medal with 10 clasps, the full tally of the regiment’s service in the Peninsula.

William Veitch was born in the Parish of Greenock, in the County of Renfrew, a Clock Maker by trade. He enlisted into the 94th Foot in April 1808 and served with the regiment in the Peninsula from January 1810 until the conclusion of the war, being promoted to Corporal in January 1813 and to Sergeant in October 1814. He was discharged in April 1814 but re-enlisted as a Private in the 25th Foot on 22 August 1815. Once again he rose through the ranks, becoming Corporal in August 1818 and Sergeant in January 1819. He was finally discharged to pension on 9 May 1832. Sold with a copy of the sale catalogue for the Power-Hynes Collection, and copied discharge papers.
