South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1879 (1547. Sergt. T. Pettitt. 2/21st Foot.); Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (1541. Sergt. T. Pettitt. R. Sc: Fus:) both slightly tarnished, surname of last partially officially corrected, light contact marks, therefore very fine (2) £600-£800

Thomas Pettitt was a native of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. He attested for the 21st Foot, 13 November 1860 - the day before his twin brother William joined the same regiment. Both were aged 19 at the time. Thomas was discharged medically unfit, 10 August 1880.
