Maharajpoor Star 1843 (Private John Fry HM 16th Lancers) fitted with replacement German-silver bar suspension, and top riband bar for wear, good very fine £460-£500

John Fry was born in Marylebone, London, and attested for the 16th Lancers at Maidstone, Kent in November 1838. He served with the Regiment at Maharajpoor 1843, and during the Sutlej campaign (entitled to Medal for Aliwal, with ‘Sobraon’ clasp). Fry was discharged, 10 September 1850, after 11 years and 285 days service.
