Walter David Bloom was born in Southrepps, Cromer, Norfolk, in 1886 and attested for the Norfolk Regiment on 12 September 1904. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 August 1914, and was discharged as no longer physically fit on 31 December 1914.
