Henry Viccars was born in Kensington, London, and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Fulham. He served with the 16th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 21 October 1916, on which date the Battalion was involved in an attack on Stuff Redoubt, and suffered 138 casualties. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
