Claude Stewart Bentman was born in London and attested there for the London Regiment. He served with the 23rd Battalion during the Great War in the Middle East, and was killed in action in Egypt on 19 February 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial.

Leonard Bentman was born in London and attested there for the London Regiment. He served with the 9th Battalion (Queen Victoria’s Rifles) during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 21 January 1917. He is buried in Laventie Military Cemetery, France.

Alex August John Bentman, brother of the above, served with the Army Cyclist Corps, and survived the War.
