Military General Service 1793-1814, 8 clasps, Corunna, Busaco, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Orthes, Toulouse (David McKelvie, 52nd Foot) some light edge bruising and polished, otherwise nearly very fine £2,800-£3,200

David McKelvie was born in Belfast and enlisted at Wexford on 14 May 1805, aged 24. He served for 13 years 287 days and was also present at Waterloo, in Captain Browning’s Company, for which he received an additional 2 years service. He was discharged at Uxbridge on 24 February 1819, in consequence of a reduction in the regiment. A cordwainer by trade, his conduct was described as ‘very good’. Sold with copied discharge papers.
