Pegler S.P.O. (S). R.N.); U.N. Korea 1950-54, unnamed as issued; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., E.II.R., 1st issue (MX50669. H. A. W. Pegler. S.C.P.O. (S). H.M.S. Blackcap.) mounted as originally worn, with riband bar and colour slide of recipient in later life, last with official corrections, generally very fine (8) £300-£400

M.I.D. London Gazette 10 November 1953:

‘For distinguished service in operations in Korean waters.’

Herbert Albert Worton Pegler served as a Stores Petty Officer with H.M.S. Whitesand Bay (anti-aircraft frigate) during the Korean War. He subsequently transferred to H.M.S. Blackcap (RNAS Stretton - the home of Fleet Air Arm’s Northern Air Division).
