Blackcap.) mounted as originally worn, with riband bar and colour slide of recipient in later life, last with official corrections, generally very fine (8) £300-£400

M.I.D. London Gazette 10 November 1953:

‘For distinguished service in operations in Korean waters.’

Herbert Albert Worton Pegler served as a Stores Petty Officer with H.M.S. Whitesand Bay (anti-aircraft frigate) during the Korean War. He subsequently transferred to H.M.S. Blackcap (RNAS Stretton - the home of Fleet Air Arm’s Northern Air Division).
